About the author:

Matt Lewis is a conservative commentator, consultant, and political trainer, based in Alexandria, VA. 
 
Matt is a sought after public speaker, who has spoken for groups such as American Universitys Campaign Management Institute, the Republican National Committees Campaign Management College, Concerned Women for America, and Regent University.  He has authored articles for publications such as, Human Events Online, Personal Democracy Forum, and Campaigns & Elections Magazine.  He has been a featured guest on various radio shows, including NPRs Talk of the Nation, and been quoted in publications such as, the Richmond Times Dispatch, the LA Times, National Journals Hotline, The Hill, the Washington Express, and the Baltimore Sun.  He is also the author of Teaching Elephants to Talk, a Crash Course in Campaign Communications.
 
Matt has served as Director of Grassroots for The Leadership Institute, a national non-profit conservative training organization where he managed the execution of all program aspects including conducting schools throughout US.  He has also served as Political Director for GOPAC.  Additionally, Matt has managed campaigns ranging from School Board to U.S. Congress in states ranging from Maryland to North Dakota.  In 1998, he helped elect the youngest Republican in the history of the Maryland State Senate.
 
In 2002, Campaigns & Elections Magazine selected Matt as a Rising Star of Politics.
